Gorgeous expensive cars that are also practical. The word "practicality" will take on a new meaning after reading this article. In part, because the vehicles mentioned in this article are probably the furthest thing from one's mind, when the subject of practicality is brought up in a conversation with someone else, or in a social circle. However, rest assure that the vehicles mentioned in this article are practical for everyday use..

The world we live in today has changed a great deal since the 70's and 80's. Back in those days, a Porsche (using the Porsche as a hypothetical) was only good for one thing and one thing only - "chick magnet" was the derogative term some males would use to describe a Porsche. If you were rich or well off, as most Porsche owners usually are, you would have little choice but to purchase a second car in case you wanted to take out clientele to lunch/gatherings, since the Porsche was too small and uncomfortable for things of this sort. - Speaking of Porsche, they were one of the first companies to wise up and decide to change their reputation.

Here is a list of cars that are extremely expensive, yet practical for everyday use.

Bentley Continental Flying Spur 2012 - 4 doors - $225,000

In writing this article, I checked prices for new vehicles in the area so as to give price details of this car and found 6 listed: $238,670 was the most expensive, $206,610 was the most reasonable, if you can call this price range reasonable. This vehicle is not only gorgeous, but surprisingly very practical as well. You can punch the accelerator and feel like you're driving an expensive and exotic sports car, yet pick up clients and take them to lunch with no problem. The vehicle is extremely comfortable and spacious. You can also take yourself, or your family on long trips with ease.

Rolls Royce Ghost 2012 - 4 doors - $300,000

Don't get overly excited when I mention this vehicle's bargain price to you. Just like the Bentley, I checked prices for new vehicles in the area and found 4 Ghosts listed: $312,475 was the most expensive, with $285,645 being the least expensive. Again, this is an outrageous price tag by any stretch of the imagination, yet, it is a practical automobile. Yes, just like the Bentley, you can take this car out on long family trips with ease and not worried about ever being uncomfortable.

Maserati Quattroporte 2012 - 4 doors - $120,000

This is a gorgeous vehicle which seems like a bargain when compared to the Bentley and Rolls. However, it's expensive for the average individual---yet, practical at that. It's 4 doors and quite roomy. In fact, a tad more sporty and exotic looking than both the Bentley and Rolls. And, like the two vehicles mentioned before it, practical and roomy for long trips and/or client luncheons.

Porsche Panamera 2012 - 4 doors - $140,000

What's interesting about this Porsche, as with all Porsches, is the price range. I checked prices in the area and they range from about $90,000 all the way up to $200,000, depending on how many bells and whistles you'd like to get? This would not be my first choice for business/family trips, but it's a comfortable vehicle nonetheless - a bargain compared to the Bentley and Rolls.

BMW 7-Series 2012 - 4 doors - $85,000

Not as exotic as any of the vehicles mentioned thus far, but very practical. One advantage this vehicle has over the others mentioned so far, is there are more available out there to choose from, so chances of getting a better bargain should be pretty good.

Mercedes Benz S-Class - 4 doors - $90,000

Traditional vehicle, yet handsome at the same time.

Aston Martin Rapide - 4 doors - $225,000

Again, checked in the area for new vehicles listed and found 8: $232,333 was the most expensive, $211,215 was the least expensive of them all.

Audi A8 - 4 doors - $90,000

Gorgeous vehicle, and also more exotic than both BMW and Mercedes Benz - great handling as well. Again, an alternative to the typical BMW or Mercedes.

Jaguar XJ - 4 doors - $85,000

Exotic and gorgeous, yet practical at the same time.

Cadillac CTS - 4 doors - $50,000

Cheaper alternative to the status quo, yet quite comfortable at the same time.

Yes, the prices of these vehicles are something; however, the cars in of themselves are practical for everyday use.

Up and interesting. These cars are starting to get a bit more of a hybrid of luxurious sport and everyday usability. The only parts that are not practical for the normal human are the prices and mileage for many of these cars.

Thanks for SHARING.

Yes, I thought I'd list cars that although very expensive, serve a purpose more than just 'looking good'

John, voted up, useful, awesome, and interesting. Wow, those cars are expensive. I would think they are for the rich and famous. I believe, even if I was rich, I wouldn't spend over $50K for a brand new car. Then again, if I was rich, it wouldn't matter:) Cool article John. Glad to have found your work. Have a great weekend pal. Take care.

Thanks thelyricwriter for stopping by and for your kind words about my article.

You make a great point, 50K is quite a bit of money for a car. I'm thinking about writing a sister article to this one, will see.

Take care of yourself and you also have a wonderful weekend

I disagree on most of the cars here. For me a truly practical car can haul all kinds of stuff from the hardware store. So it has to be a hatchback with folding back seats , like the Panamera.

You'd use a Panamera to "haul...stuff from the hardware store?" Interesting....

This is a very cool site. Is there a way that you can put picure of the car next to the discription? I think that the price of the cars that you listed are crazy. Again a thumbs up and nice work

You aint kidding Jason... I talk about Honda in many of my car articles and always place them on a pedestal. Additionally, Honda are really self-conscious about producing vehicles that are inexpensive, yet never cheap looking.

Dude I think that this is a great site. I am dating my self but I remember the best car that I had was when I was sixteen it was a new 1938 ford. I don't remember the name of it but it was really nice. It was a chick magnet. You should create a article on classic cars. But I like this site alot. Very nice.

Yes, I'm working on writing more car articles as they're quite popular. Thanks for the tip. There are some awesome American Classic Automobiles of the 60's that merit an article of their own.

Take care
