Classic Automobiles
Most money paid for classic automobiles. Many people will go into acute convulsions when they hear about some new cars costing $700,000 dollars. Such was the case for example: Ferrari Enzo - actually, few if anyone paid $700,000 dollars for an Enzo, because they were in very short supply. When the Enzo was introduced in 2003, there were some people that paid as much as $1,000,000 million + for some. The Enzo was introduced by Ferrari to commemorate the company’s founder: Enzo Ferrari. Furthermore, because the Enzo was made for a special occasion, it was immediately discontinued - this could have only helped the Enzo hype, because car aficionados ended up paying much more for a used Enzo, than they would have for a brand - spanking new one when Ferrari initially introduced the model in 2003. However, because Ferrari , decided they would only make a small number of Enzo’s, some wealthy car connoisseurs were smart enough to pre-order them before they went into production.... Nevertheless, this article will focus on many whom have paid millions for classic and antique automobiles, and not on the cost of new vehicles.
Here is a list of expensive classic and antique automobiles:
1961 Ferrari California Spyder
This beautiful and classic Ferrari was auctioned for a cool $10,894,900 million in May of 2008. The car was in absolute mint condition.
1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe
This racing car was auctioned for $7.25 million dollars back in August, 2009.
1953 Corvette
Sold for over $1 million dollars in 2006
1962 Ferrari Le Mans
Auctioned for $6,49 million dollars, one of the highest paid in an auction.
1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa
Sold for $12 million dollars in 2009.
These are just some examples of wealthy car aficionados whom have paid millions of dollars for antique cars. Classic autos are big business in places like the USA. Some people are willing to go into debt for the privilege of owning a beautiful classic automobile (any vehicle over 25 years old), or antique automobiles (any vehicle over 40 years old). In the USA, there are special dealerships exclusively devoted to recreating classic automobiles, such as the Ford T-Bird for example. The first model Ford T-Bird’s are highly desired by many car connoisseurs; the 1955-1957 model T-Bird is a big deal amongst wealthy car aficionados, and many of them will pay top dollars for one. Furthermore, there are some people whom do not have the capital required for the privilege, yet have gone into serious debt over some of these beautiful automobiles.
